JAGO - Harvesting
A 7 Days to Die mod by AMG5TAG. Version 1.0.0 for game version 3.4; installs on the server and client. Category: Gameplay.
Take a wrench to town clutter (gas pumps, water heaters, street lights, sinks, shopping carts and more) for fuel, parts, pipes, water and wheels, and roughly halve the bone and rotting flesh from corpses and carcasses.
Description
In vanilla, half the junk in a town is just scenery: gas pumps, water heaters, street lights and shopping carts give you nothing useful. JAGO - Harvesting turns that clutter into a salvage run. Take a wrench to the decor and there's a chance of fuel, electrical parts, mechanical parts, pipes, water and even vehicle wheels.
It also pulls back one of vanilla's most lopsided yields. Butchering animals and searching gore piles hands out huge stacks of bone and rotting flesh. This mod roughly halves those numbers, so bone and flesh feel like resources again rather than inventory spam.
The result is a scavenging loop where it's worth stopping to strip a kitchen or a gas station, and where a single deer no longer fills your backpack with bones.
Features
- Wheels from tyre and wheel props (any tool, 10%), and from shopping carts (wrench, 25%).
- Murky Water from fire hydrants, sinks (25%) and toilets (30%), with a wrench.
- Gas Cans from decorative lanterns (1-2 at 50%) and gas pumps (2-5 at 60%), with a wrench.
- Electrical Parts from microwaves, TVs, PCs and monitors, air conditioners, dishwashers, dryers, street lights, traffic lights and ceiling fan lights, with a wrench.
- Mechanical Parts from car radiators, air conditioners, water heaters, dishwashers and ceiling fan lights, with a wrench.
- Scrap Iron from car and house radiators, water heaters and shopping carts, with a wrench.
- Short Iron Pipes from sinks (30%, wrench).
- Cloth from modern armchairs and camping chairs when destroyed.
- All salvage is added on top of the vanilla drops, never replacing them.
- Less bone and rotting flesh: corpse and gore blocks, body bags and the hanging corpse give about half the bone and flesh. Animal and zombie-animal carcasses give about half the bone (e.g. stag 25 to 12) and, for the zombie animals, Dire Wolf and boss boar, half the rotting flesh. Meat, hide and fat are not touched.
Compatibility
- All changes target named vanilla blocks and animals. Other mods that rewrite the same drop rows conflict, and whichever loads last wins.
- Pairs with JAGO - Loot: some props (TVs, microwaves, water heaters, air conditioner) can be searched with Loot and also give wrench salvage with this mod.
- No text to translate.
Requirements
- XML only, no DLL, so it works with EasyAntiCheat on.
- No Gears settings and no other mods needed.
- Install on the server and on every player's game so harvest drops match on both sides. There is no text or UI.
- Unzip into your Mods folder and keep the folder name exactly as shipped (ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Harvesting). The ZZ- prefix makes it load late.
- Works on its own. Every JAGO mod is independent, so install as many or as few as you like.
Installation
Step 1: Install JAGO - Harvesting on the server and on every player's game, all on the same version. In single player, install it on your own game.
Step 2: Download the zip and unzip it into the game's Mods folder, so you end up with Mods/ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Harvesting/ModInfo.xml. For the game that is the Mods folder in the install folder (in Steam: right-click 7 Days to Die > Manage > Browse local files; create Mods if it isn't there). For a dedicated server it is the Mods folder next to the server executable.
Step 3: Keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Harvesting exactly as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order. Don't put it inside another folder.
Step 4: XML only, no DLL: it works with EasyAntiCheat on.
Step 5: Start (or restart) the server and the game. To update, delete the old folder and unzip the new version the same way on the server and every player's game at the same time.
