JAGO - Loot
A 7 Days to Die mod by AMG5TAG. Version 1.0.0 for game version 3.4; installs on the server and client. Category: Gameplay.
Makes about 600 vanilla props searchable (sofas, beds, PCs, TVs, pallets, appliances, cars and more), each with small, fitting loot, plus scrap drops, trader sell prices, stackable TVs and spike trap pickup.
Description
Vanilla towns are full of things you'd search in real life but can't touch in game: sofas, beds, PCs, TVs, cement bags, pallets, ice machines, burnt-out cars. JAGO - Loot makes about 600 of those props searchable, each with its own small loot table that fits what it is. Sofas hide loose cash, cement bags hold cement, PCs give electronics and military pallets give brass and ammo.
It's balanced on purpose. Counts are small, most finds are common resources, and anything valuable sits at low or very low odds. Searching a room becomes more worthwhile without flooding you with gear.
It also tidies a few rough edges. Closed appliances stay closed after you loot them, shoe racks give footwear instead of armour parts, placed spike traps can be picked back up, decorative props can be sold to traders and scrapped, and TVs stack. If you run JAGO - Farming, JAGO - Elements or JAGO - Supply Drop Radio, their items are added to the right containers automatically.
Features
- 78 new loot lists on about 600 vanilla blocks that weren't lootable before.
- Bags: blank, concrete, cow feed, fertiliser, flour and sand bags (over 100 variants), destroyed once emptied. For example, cement bags give 8-20 Cement.
- Pallets: boxes, bricks, cans, cardboard, military and wood pallets. A military pallet gives Scrap Iron, Polymers, Brass, Lead, Gunpowder, Forged Iron and a few rounds.
- Furniture: beds, sofas, upholstered seats, diner couches, nightstands, office desks, pool tables and pianos, mostly Cloth, a little cash and the odd Bandage.
- Electronics: PCs, TVs, speakers, ham radios, satellite dishes and breaker boxes.
- Appliances and fixtures: air conditioners, water heaters, washers, ice machines, kitchens, sinks, toilets, urinals, drinking fountains and IV drips.
- Vehicles: 4x4s, gyrocopters, minibikes, motorcycles, bicycles, wagons and burnt-out cars. Tractors get a farming list with crops, seed and farming magazines.
- Misc: gas cylinders, gas meters, cash registers (5-45 Dukes), vending machines, trader shelves, wine barrels and bottles, and wood, pipe and drywall stacks. Pistol and rifle pictures give a Handgun or Rifle skill magazine.
- Pets: dog houses, reptile terrariums and large pet cages. Dog houses and terrariums break once emptied, like a bird's nest.
- Closed appliances stay closed: microwaves, washer, wall oven, retro fridge, dishwasher, cooler, dryer and modern stove no longer turn into their "open" block when looted.
- Shoe containers give footwear instead of armour parts.
- Sell to traders: about 600 decorative blocks can be sold to traders.
- Scrapping: 51 decorative blocks that had no scrap drop now have one, electronics scrap to Electrical Parts, and decorative items found in loot (appliances, TVs, sinks, candles and more) can be scrapped from your inventory.
- Spike pickup: placed, undamaged Wood and Iron Spikes can be picked up again.
- Stackable TVs: decorative TVs stack to 25.
- Optional integrations: when the mod is installed, JAGO - Farming food, drinks, ingredients and crops appear in 27 containers, JAGO - Elements NiCd Batteries and Flammable Oil appear in appliances, electronics and vehicles, and JAGO - Supply Drop Radio parts and radio codes appear in electronics and military loot. Missing mods are skipped safely.
Settings
Optional Gears World settings, category Aussie Tucker Loot. Each is an On/Off switch, default On, and only matters when JAGO - Farming is installed:
- Kitchen & Pantry: flour, sugar, oats, butter and so on in kitchens.
- Appliances: retro fridge, cooler, oven and closed microwave.
- Shops & Vending: vending machines, trader shelves and registers.
- Pub & Diner: pool table, diner couches, wine barrels and bottles, drinking fountain.
- Bags & Pallets: flour and cow-feed bags, pallets and the military trader shelf.
- Farm & Outdoors: tractor and wagon (native crops).
- Witchetty Grubs: wood stacks and body bags.
- Soft Furnishings: snack stashes in sofas, beds and office desks.
Compatibility
- Mods that also change the class of, or add storage to, the same decorative blocks will conflict, and whichever loads last wins.
- Some blocks change class to hold loot, which affects blocks already placed in existing saves. A fresh world is the safest start.
- Pairs with JAGO - Animals: emptying a dog house or terrarium breaks it, which can release a zombie dog or a snake.
- Pairs with JAGO - Harvesting: some props (TVs, microwaves, water heaters, air conditioner) can be searched and also give wrench salvage.
- Translations: English, German and Spanish (settings text).
Requirements
- XML only, no DLL, so it works with EasyAntiCheat on.
- Gears is optional and only needed to change the settings above.
- Install on the server and on every player's game: about 600 block definitions change.
- Unzip into your Mods folder and keep the folder name exactly as shipped (ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Loot). The ZZ- prefix makes it load late, after the mods it adds items for.
- Works on its own. Every JAGO mod is independent, so install as many or as few as you like.
Installation
Step 1: Install JAGO - Loot on the server and on every player's game, all on the same version. In single player, install it on your own game.
Step 2: Download the zip and unzip it into the game's Mods folder, so you end up with Mods/ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Loot/ModInfo.xml. For the game that is the Mods folder in the install folder (in Steam: right-click 7 Days to Die > Manage > Browse local files; create Mods if it isn't there). For a dedicated server it is the Mods folder next to the server executable.
Step 3: Keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Loot exactly as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order. Don't put it inside another folder.
Step 4: XML only, no DLL: it works with EasyAntiCheat on.
Step 5: Optional: install Gears (Mod Settings Manager) to change the settings in game. Without it the defaults are used.
Step 6: Start (or restart) the server and the game. To update, delete the old folder and unzip the new version the same way on the server and every player's game at the same time.
