JAGO - Power
A 7 Days to Die mod by AMG5TAG. Version 1.0.1 for game version 3.4; installs on the server and client. Category: Crafting.
One big 6000 W Generator that holds 18 engines, a longer-reach wire tool, workstations that put themselves out when their work is done, and a Wristwatch, Weather Radio and GPS for servers that hide that information.
Description
Once a base outgrows a couple of generator banks, vanilla electricity gets awkward. You end up running a row of banks, each with its own wire limit, while the wire tool makes you stand right next to whatever you're wiring. JAGO - Power adds one big Generator that does the work of ten banks, and gives the wire tool longer wires and more reach.
The second half of the mod deals with fuel waste. Campfires, forges and chemistry stations put themselves out once their craft queue and smelting are finished, so you stop coming home to a forge that has burned through your wood for nothing. You can add a grace period to queue the next job, let forges finish their smelt pile, and choose which station types the mod manages.
It also fixes a vanilla wiring bug on multiblock power sources, and adds three carried gadgets for servers that turn off the clock, storm warnings or location info.
Features
- Generator: a heavy engine generator (3x2x2) that holds 18 Small Engines, outputs up to 6000 W at full engine quality, holds 10000 fuel and supports 16 wire connections. Same fuel efficiency and engine-quality scaling as vanilla.
- Generator unlock: Advanced Engineering rank 5. Recipe (Workbench, 120 s): 30 Forged Steel, 8 Motor Tool Parts, 30 Mechanical Parts, 45 Electrical Parts, 200 Brass.
- Wire tool: wires up to 50 blocks long (vanilla 15) and 12 blocks of wiring reach (vanilla 4). Dig and build reach stay vanilla.
- Fix: wiring a side cell of a multiblock power source (such as the solar bank) no longer creates a dead phantom power source. The wire goes to the real block.
- Workstation fuel saving: a fuel-burning workstation goes out once its craft queue is empty and, for forges, its smelt pile is finished, optionally after a delay.
- Stalled smelts (leftovers too small to smelt, or a full material store) stop counting as work after 60 seconds.
- Auto-start forges: an unlit forge with fuel lights itself when new material is added, and goes out again when the smelt is done. A forge a player has open is left to them.
- Idle fires: optionally put out a hand-lit station that never had work after a set time, unless a player is nearby. Off by default.
- Per-type control for campfires, forges, chemistry stations and other fuel-burning workstations (modded ones included), plus an exclusion list.
- Wristwatch: carry it in your toolbelt or backpack to see the day and time when the server has Show Day/Time off.
- Weather Radio: carry it to get vanilla's storm warning, countdown and alert sound when the server has storm warnings off.
- GPS: carry it to see the name and difficulty of the POI you're in or entering when the server has location info off.
- The three gadgets are crafted at the Workbench after learning their schematics. Schematics are found only in military footlockers and army trucks (from loot stage 30). With JAGO - Crafting installed they can also be crafted at the Research Bench.
- The crafting list shows which schematic unlocks each gadget.
- English, German and Spanish text.
Settings
With Gears: New Game / Continue Game screen, World tab, JAGO - Power. Gears values take priority. Without Gears: edit Settings.xml in the mod folder and restart.
- Enable Fuel Saving: master switch. Default On.
- Shutoff Delay: seconds a station keeps burning after its work is done. Default 0, range 0-120.
- Smelting Counts As Work: forges stay lit until the smelt pile is gone. Default On.
- Auto-Start Forges: Default On.
- Stalled Smelt Timeout: seconds an unchanged smelt pile still counts as work (0 = never give up). Default 60, range 0-300.
- Idle Fire Shutoff: Never, 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Default Never.
- Keep Lit Near Players: idle fires don't time out while a player is within this many blocks (0 = ignore players). Default 10, range 0-50.
- Manage Campfires / Forges / Chemistry Stations / Other Stations: Default On for all.
- ExcludeWorkstations (Settings.xml only): comma-separated block names to leave alone. Default empty.
- Verbose (Settings.xml only): log each pickup and shutoff. Default false.
Generator stats and wire length and reach are set in the XML, not in settings.
Compatibility
- Remove kfearWorkstationAutoOff if you use it, because both mods act on the same stations.
- Replaces the older Z-AMG5TAG-GeneratorsPlus and Z-AMG5TAG-FuelPlus. Delete both. Placed Generators survive the upgrade; Gears settings need setting again once.
- Other mods that change the wire tool, power sources or workstation updates may conflict.
Requirements
- Harmony DLL mod: EasyAntiCheat must be OFF.
- Gears is optional (for the in-game fuel-saving settings).
- Install on the server and on every client.
- Unzip into your Mods folder and keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Power as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order.
- Settings.xml is created from Settings.xml.example the first time the mod runs. Updating never overwrites your edited Settings.xml.
- Works standalone. Each JAGO mod is independent. JAGO - Crafting adds the Research Bench schematic recipes when present.
Installation
Step 1: Install JAGO - Power on the server and on every player's game, all on the same version. In single player, install it on your own game.
Step 2: Download the zip and unzip it into the game's Mods folder, so you end up with Mods/ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Power/ModInfo.xml. For the game that is the Mods folder in the install folder (in Steam: right-click 7 Days to Die > Manage > Browse local files; create Mods if it isn't there). For a dedicated server it is the Mods folder next to the server executable.
Step 3: Keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Power exactly as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order. Don't put it inside another folder.
Step 4: This mod contains a DLL, so EasyAntiCheat must be off: start the game without EAC (untick EasyAntiCheat in the launcher), and on a dedicated server set EACEnabled to false in serverconfig.xml.
Step 5: Optional: install Gears (Mod Settings Manager) to change the settings in game. Without it the defaults are used.
Step 6: Settings.xml is created from Settings.xml.example the first time the mod runs. Edit Settings.xml, not the example; updates never overwrite it.
Step 7: Start (or restart) the server and the game. To update, delete the old folder and unzip the new version the same way on the server and every player's game at the same time.
Changelog
JAGO - Power: changelog
=======================
1.0.1 (29 Oct 2026)
- The wristwatch and GPS now have photo icons of a real wristwatch and handheld GPS, the weather radio has a weather badge, their schematics carry a scroll badge, and the heavy generator has a lightning and star badge, instead of borrowing the wall clock, ham radio, motion sensor and generator icons. Their old colour tints are removed, since the badges now tell them apart. Sources and licences are listed in ICON-CREDITS.txt.
1.0.0 (27 Oct 2026)
- First public release.
Development history
-------------------
Before its public release this mod was developed and run privately, with its own version numbers (the last was 3.4.4). Those notes are kept below for reference; none of those versions were released to the public.
JAGO - Power - Changelog
3.4.4 (16 Oct 2026)
- Fix: the Wristwatch, Weather Radio and GPS now show which schematic unlocks them ("Unlocked by: ... Schematic") in the crafting list. Reading the schematic already taught the recipe, but the crafting window didn't say what was needed.
3.4.3 (16 Oct 2026)
- With JAGO - Crafting installed, the Wristwatch, Weather Radio and GPS schematics can now be crafted at the Research Bench (150 Paper, 80 Research Data, 1 Legendary Parts, 120 s each), behind the same Lucky Looter rank as the other bench schematics. Without JAGO - Crafting nothing changes, and the schematics are still found in military loot.
