JAGO - Spawn
A 7 Days to Die mod by AMG5TAG. Version 1.0.0 for game version 3.4; installs on the server and client. Category: Gameplay.
Keep up to five beds and choose on the map which one to respawn at, including your party members' beds. Removes the Spawn Near Backpack option.
Description
In vanilla, only your most recently placed bed counts. Place a bedroll at a far-off POI and your home bed no longer counts as a spawn point. JAGO - Spawn keeps track of up to five beds per player and lets you choose where to respawn.
When you die, the death screen has a new Choose on Map button. The map opens with each of your beds marked, and your party members' beds too. Click the one you want and you respawn there. Right-click or press Esc to go back to the normal options. It suits players with a main base, a mining outpost and a forward camp.
To keep death meaningful, the Spawn Near Backpack option is removed. You respawn at a bed or at a random spot, not right next to your loot.
Features
- Multiple spawn beds: each player can have up to 5 registered beds (bedrolls, beds and any other sleeping bag block). Placing a sixth drops the oldest from the list; the bed itself stays in the world.
- Choose on Map button on the death screen. It shows when you have at least one bed, and not when first entering the game.
- Map selection: the map opens centred on your current spawn point or newest bed. Left-click a bed marker to respawn there; right-click or Esc returns to the death screen. Normal map clicks (waypoints and so on) are blocked while choosing.
- Bed markers: a light-blue bed icon for each of your beds, visible only to you. They stay off the compass until you click that bed on the map during normal play, and that choice lasts for the session.
- Party beds: Choose on Map also shows the beds of players in your party as green markers labelled "<name>'s bed". Before you respawn there, the server checks that sharing is on, that the owner is still in your party (or an ally, if allowed) and that the bed still exists. If not, the map refreshes and tells you.
- Server-side bed list: saved per world in the save folder as SpawningPlus.txt, and written safely so a crash can't wipe it. Destroyed beds are removed automatically when their area is loaded, and your existing vanilla bed is added to the list the first time.
Settings
- Party Beds (Gears > World > JAGO - Spawn): Off (only your own beds), Party (beds of players currently in your party) or PartyAndAllies (also mutual friends, online or offline). Default Party. Without Gears: Party.
- The 5-bed limit is fixed.
Compatibility
- Changes the death screen and the map. Other mods that rework those windows may conflict.
- The vanilla Respawn (random) button now depends only on whether you have a bed; vanilla also hid it when you had a backpack.
- Deleting SpawningPlus.txt only resets the extra beds; the vanilla active bed is picked up again.
- "Party" means your live party, so an offline member's beds only show with PartyAndAllies.
- Text in English; the Choose on Map button is also in German and Spanish.
Requirements
- Contains a DLL, so EasyAntiCheat (EAC) must be off.
- Gears is optional, for the Party Beds setting.
- Install on the server and every player's game, all on the same version: the mod uses its own network message.
- Unzip into your Mods folder and keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Spawn exactly as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order.
- Works on its own. Every JAGO mod is independent, so you can install just this one.
Installation
Step 1: Install JAGO - Spawn on the server and on every player's game, all on the same version. In single player, install it on your own game.
Step 2: Download the zip and unzip it into the game's Mods folder, so you end up with Mods/ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Spawn/ModInfo.xml. For the game that is the Mods folder in the install folder (in Steam: right-click 7 Days to Die > Manage > Browse local files; create Mods if it isn't there). For a dedicated server it is the Mods folder next to the server executable.
Step 3: Keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Spawn exactly as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order. Don't put it inside another folder.
Step 4: This mod contains a DLL, so EasyAntiCheat must be off: start the game without EAC (untick EasyAntiCheat in the launcher), and on a dedicated server set EACEnabled to false in serverconfig.xml.
Step 5: Optional: install Gears (Mod Settings Manager) to change the settings in game. Without it the defaults are used.
Step 6: Start (or restart) the server and the game. To update, delete the old folder and unzip the new version the same way on the server and every player's game at the same time.
Changelog
JAGO - Spawn: changelog
=======================
1.0.0 (27 Oct 2026)
- First public release.
Development history
-------------------
Before its public release this mod was developed and run privately, with its own version numbers (the last was 0.5.1). Those notes are kept below for reference; none of those versions were released to the public.
0.5.1 (26 Oct 2026)
- Fix: the bed list (SpawningPlus.txt in the save folder) is now written to a temporary file and swapped in one step, so a crash during a save can't wipe everyone's registered beds.
