JAGO - Supply Drop Radio
A 7 Days to Die mod by AMG5TAG. Version 1.0.1 for game version 3.4; installs on the server and client. Category: Gameplay.
Learn the Air Support perk, build an Army Ham Radio and spend radio codes and Dukes to call in your own Food, Ammo and Medical supply drops.
Description
Vanilla air drops arrive on the game's schedule. Supply Drop Radio lets you call them in yourself. Learn the Air Support perk, build an Army Ham Radio at your workbench, then use it with a radio code and a stack of Dukes to make a supply drop signal. Plant the signal where you want the drop, wait for the crate to land, and loot it.
There are three drop types, Food, Ammo and Medical, unlocked as you rank up Air Support. Radio codes are rare finds in military loot, boss zombie loot bags and high-tier quest rewards, and traders sometimes stock them. Each drop is something you plan and pay for, such as calling in medical supplies before a horde night.
Features
- Air Support perk (General perks, 3 ranks): rank 1 (player level 10) unlocks the Army Ham Radio and Food drops, rank 2 (level 20) Ammo drops, rank 3 (level 30) Medical drops.
- Army Ham Radio: a workstation crafted at the Workbench (1 Computer SOC, 50 Forged Iron, 50 Electrical Parts, 25 Mechanical Parts, 50 Scrap Polymers, 180 s). It can be picked up and has its own crafting window.
- Supply Drop Signals (Food, Ammo, Medical): crafted at the radio, each costing 1 matching radio code, 1,500 Duke's Casino Tokens, 3 Computer SOC, 5 Forged Iron and 5 Gunpowder. Place one up to 10 blocks away and it turns into the matching supply crate.
- Supply crates (8x4 storage, vanilla air drop sounds):
- Ammo: munitions, a chance of rockets and a small chance of rare ores.
- Food: air drop food and drink, and a small chance of rare ores.
- Medical: air drop and survival medicine, a chance of common medical, and a small chance of rare ores.
- Crates are removed when closed.
- Ham Radio codes (Food, Ammo, Medical): 2% each in military books and footlockers, tier 3 and tier 5 quest rewards, tier 3 reinforced chests, Shotgun Messiah books and boss zombie loot bags. Traders stock them occasionally, and they can be sold.
- Computer SOC: a new electronics resource, with a 10% salvage chance from breaker boxes, control panels, motion sensors, small TVs, solar banks, satellite dishes, desktop PCs and server racks.
- Infestation Reward crate: used by JAGO - Zombies when an infestation is cleared, with air drop, zombie, ammo and medical loot one quality tier higher than normal. Not craftable.
- Custom icons and signal and crate models.
- English, German and Spanish text.
Settings
There are no settings. Everything is set in the XML.
Compatibility
- The drop is a block swap at the signal's location; no plane or parachute is involved.
- The signal block is tall (15 blocks), so it needs clear space above it.
- Only adds to vanilla loot groups, trader groups and salvage drops; no vanilla values are overwritten.
Requirements
- XML and assets only, no DLL: works with EasyAntiCheat on.
- Gears is not used.
- Install on the server and on every client (clients need the icons and models).
- Unzip into your Mods folder and keep the folder name Z-AMG5TAG-JAGO-SupplyDropRadio as it is: the Z- prefix sets the load order.
- Works standalone. Each JAGO mod is independent. With JAGO - Zombies installed, cleared infestations call in the reward crate.
Installation
Step 1: Install JAGO - Supply Drop Radio on the server and on every player's game, all on the same version. In single player, install it on your own game.
Step 2: Download the zip and unzip it into the game's Mods folder, so you end up with Mods/Z-AMG5TAG-JAGO-SupplyDropRadio/ModInfo.xml. For the game that is the Mods folder in the install folder (in Steam: right-click 7 Days to Die > Manage > Browse local files; create Mods if it isn't there). For a dedicated server it is the Mods folder next to the server executable.
Step 3: Keep the folder name Z-AMG5TAG-JAGO-SupplyDropRadio exactly as it is: the Z- prefix sets the load order. Don't put it inside another folder.
Step 4: XML only, no DLL: it works with EasyAntiCheat on.
Step 5: Start (or restart) the server and the game. To update, delete the old folder and unzip the new version the same way on the server and every player's game at the same time.

Development history
-------------------
Before its public release this mod was developed and run privately, with its own version numbers (the last was 1.2.0). Those notes are kept below for reference; none of those versions were released to the public.
JAGO - Supply Drop Radio - Changelog
1.2.0 (15 Oct 2026)
- New: an Infestation Reward supply drop, used by JAGO - Zombies (3.9.0 or later) when a party clears an infestation. It isn't craftable and can't be picked up.
- Like the radio drops, its signal turns into a supply crate after a short wait. The crate holds 2 rolls of vanilla air drop loot, 2 of strong zombie loot, 1 of ammo, a 50% chance of medical supplies and a 5% chance of rare ores, rolled at the opener's loot stage with quality one tier higher than normal.
- Without JAGO - Zombies nothing changes: the radio, signals and crates work as before.
