JAGO - Tools and Weapons
A 7 Days to Die mod by AMG5TAG. Version 1.0.1 for game version 3.4; installs on the server and client. Category: Weapons.
Two endgame Ultimate Tools (an all-in-one harvesting tool and a salvage-and-repair tool), 16 class-specific repair kits, and mod slots that grow with item quality.
Description
Tired of swapping between axe, pickaxe, shovel and knife on every harvesting trip? JAGO - Tools and Weapons adds two endgame Ultimate Tools. The Ultimate Harvesting Tool combines axe, pickaxe, shovel, crowbar and knife in one, with +150% damage against wood, earth, stone and metal. The Ultimate Salvage Tool salvages like an impact driver and repairs and upgrades better than the Nailgun. Both are deliberately weak as weapons. They're rare finds and late crafting-skill unlocks, not starter gear.
The second half of the mod makes repairs about logistics. One generic Repair Kit no longer fixes everything: there are 16 class repair kits (Handgun, Rifle, Shotgun, Bow, Blade, Armour and so on), each made from a standard Repair Kit plus that class's parts. The gear you carry decides which parts you keep.
Finally, mod slots follow quality, so higher-quality finds feel like real upgrades.
Features
- Ultimate Harvesting Tool: works as axe, pickaxe, shovel, crowbar and knife, with butchering and corpse removal. +150% damage against wood, earth, gravel, stone and metal, 1,000-2,000 durability, but only 5 damage against creatures.
- Crafted at the Workbench (2 Steel Tool Parts, 50 Forged Steel, 25 Mechanical Parts, 15 Leather, 1 Legendary Parts; more at higher quality). Unlocks at Harvesting Tools level 85, with higher quality tiers up to level 100.
- Ultimate Salvage Tool: salvages faster and harder than the Impact Driver (130 block damage, 80 attacks a minute) and repairs and upgrades blocks with a 1,250 repair amount (Nailgun: 1,000). 1,450-2,450 durability, 5 damage against creatures.
- Crafted at the Workbench (2 Steel Tool Parts, 50 Forged Steel, 25 Mechanical Parts, 5 Springs, 1 Legendary Parts; more at higher quality). Unlocks at Salvage Tools level 65, with higher quality tiers up to level 75.
- Both tools: a 1% chance in army trucks and military footlockers, and rare trader stock at quality 1-6.
- 16 class repair kits: Handgun, Rifle, Shotgun, Machine Gun, Rocket Launcher, Bow, Baton, Blade, Club, Knuckles, Sledgehammer, Spear, Steel Tool, Motor Tool, Armour and Ultimate Tool. Each is crafted at the Workbench from 1 Repair Kit, 1 of that class's parts, 2 Duct Tape and 5 Mechanical Parts (20 s, no unlock needed).
- Each class kit is the only kit that repairs its items: for example the Handgun kit for the Pistol, .44 Magnum, Desert Vulture and SMG-5, the Motor Tool kit for the Chainsaw, Auger, Nailgun and Impact Driver, and the Armour kit for nearly every armour set.
- Kits are found at a low chance in car, utility, workbench, toolbox, backpack and Pass-n-Gas loot, and all 16 are sold by traders.
- Mod slots follow quality: quality 1 to 6 gives at least 1 to 6 mod slots. Items whose vanilla slots are already higher keep them, so nothing loses slots (for example steel tools go from 3,3,3,4,4,4 to 3,3,3,4,5,6). The Junk Drone and backpacks are left alone.
- With IZY Classic loaded, about 82 IZY weapons use the class kits too, and IZY's Advanced Repair Kit recipe is removed.
- English, German and Spanish text; Simplified Chinese for the Ultimate Tool names and descriptions.
Settings
- Mod-slot preset, chosen in Config/items.xml by commenting one line in and the others out:
- BALANCED (default): at least 1-6 slots by quality, never fewer than vanilla.
- CONSERVATIVE: 1,2,3,4,4,4 slots.
- HARDCORE: 2,3,4,5,6,7 slots.
- There are no Gears settings.
Compatibility
- Not every item has a class kit. Iron-tier tools and weapons, the Robotic Sledge, Turret and Drone, vehicles, and Primitive, Big Beak, Keg Breaker and Wraith Wood Witch armour still repair with the standard Repair Kit.
- The mod-slot change applies to every item loaded before it, including items from other mods, and conflicts with other mod-slot mods.
- Conflicts with mods that change the repair item of the same weapons and tools; load order decides.
- Some kit descriptions mention items that only exist with IZY Classic (such as katanas).
Requirements
- XML and icons only, no DLL: works with EasyAntiCheat on.
- Gears is not used. IZY Classic is optional.
- Install on the server and on every client (clients need the icons and text).
- Unzip into your Mods folder and keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-ToolsAndWeapons as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order.
- Works standalone. Each JAGO mod is independent.
Installation
Step 1: Install JAGO - Tools and Weapons on the server and on every player's game, all on the same version. In single player, install it on your own game.
Step 2: Download the zip and unzip it into the game's Mods folder, so you end up with Mods/ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-ToolsAndWeapons/ModInfo.xml. For the game that is the Mods folder in the install folder (in Steam: right-click 7 Days to Die > Manage > Browse local files; create Mods if it isn't there). For a dedicated server it is the Mods folder next to the server executable.
Step 3: Keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-ToolsAndWeapons exactly as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order. Don't put it inside another folder.
Step 4: XML only, no DLL: it works with EasyAntiCheat on.
Step 5: Start (or restart) the server and the game. To update, delete the old folder and unzip the new version the same way on the server and every player's game at the same time.
Changelog
JAGO - Tools and Weapons: changelog
===================================
1.0.1 (29 Oct 2026)
- Each of the 16 class repair kits now shows the weapon or tool class it repairs (pistol, rifle, shotgun, bow, sledgehammer, chainsaw and so on) as a badge on the repair kit, instead of identical repair-kit icons told apart only by colour. Their old colour tints are removed, since the badges now tell them apart. Sources and licences are listed in ICON-CREDITS.txt.
1.0.0 (27 Oct 2026)
- First public release.
Development history
-------------------
Before its public release this mod was developed and run privately, with its own version numbers (the last was 2.5.2). Those notes are kept below for reference; none of those versions were released to the public.
JAGO - Tools and Weapons - Changelog
2.5.2 (26 Oct 2026)
- Fix: class repair kits dropped every time car weapon and tool loot, utility item loot or workbench loot was rolled, which made them far too common and undercut their crafting cost. They now drop at a low chance, like the other loot groups that carry them.
