JAGO - Zombies
A 7 Days to Die mod by AMG5TAG. Version 1.0.2 for game version 3.4; installs on the server and client. Category: Zombies.
Search zombie corpses for themed loot, lure zombies with Corpse Bait, hide from them with Corpse Musk, clear growing POI infestations for XP and supply drops, and face zombies with random health.
Description
Every zombie you kill had a life before the outbreak. With JAGO - Zombies you can search the corpse and see what it was still carrying. A soldier might have ammo or a pipe bomb, a nurse bandages, a farmer seeds and produce. Tougher variants carry more and better loot, sometimes books, schematics or forged metal, and each corpse has a small chance of a themed candy. Once a corpse is emptied it bursts apart, so the battlefield doesn't fill up with clutter.
The mod adds scent-based tools for working around zombies: Corpse Musk makes them lose interest in you for a minute, Bug Repellent stops Ranchers spitting insect swarms, and Corpse Bait draws wandering zombies to one spot to feed.
Every few days a POI far from your bases becomes infested. It's marked on the map, extra zombies spawn while you're there, and clearing it pays XP and calls in a reward supply drop. Leave it alone and it grows. On the morning of a blood moon you may also hear a distant howl and feel uneasy.
Features
- Searchable zombie corpses: a Search command on 280 zombie classes, all vanilla zombies plus DoubleG Zombies 3 and DoubleG Classics ReImagined when installed. Loot windows show New / Touched / Empty like vanilla containers.
- Tiered, themed loot: more slots and rolls for feral, radiated, charged and infernal zombies. Every corpse holds Rotting Flesh and Bone plus common salvage, with extras by type (weapons and ammo on cops and soldiers, medical supplies on nurses and so on). Higher tiers add skill books, mod schematics, forged iron and steel.
- Themed candy: a rare type-based candy on each corpse, for example Nurse: Health Bar, Joe: Nerd Tats.
- Destroy on loot: an emptied corpse is removed with a gore burst and sound when its window closes (configurable, can be turned off).
- Corpse butchering: with a butcher tool, 1-3 Rotting Flesh, 1-3 Bone and sometimes Animal Fat. Any tool gives 1-2 Bone.
- Corpse Musk: for 60 seconds zombies and hostile animals ignore you, even ones already chasing you. Attacking anything (hitting, shooting, explosives or ramming with a vehicle) ends it at once. It can't be used on a blood moon. Crafted at the Chemistry Station, sold rarely by traders and found rarely in medical loot.
- Crude Corpse Musk: the same for 10 seconds, crafted on a campfire with a cooking pot.
- Bug Repellent: for 10 minutes Ranchers won't spit insect swarms at you (they still come and claw). Crafted on a campfire with a cooking pot or at the Chemistry Station.
- Corpse Bait: a craftable hanging corpse on a log (18 variants). Wandering zombies within 15 m walk over to eat it, for about 30 seconds of feeding. It pulls wanderers, not zombies already chasing someone.
- Infestations (server-side): every 4 days a random POI at least 500 m from land claims and bedrolls, away from players and traders, becomes infested (up to 2 at once). It's shown with a red map and compass marker and announced in chat.
- While you're in an infested zone, extra zombies spawn around you, picked from the gamestage tiers POI sleepers use. Screamers never come to an infestation.
- Kill 15 zombies inside a zone (+5 per level, +8 per extra player) to clear it. Everyone there gets 300 XP per level plus 5 XP per gamestage, with +10% for each extra player.
- Clearing a zone calls in a reward supply drop near the last kill (one per player, up to 4), with loot one quality tier higher than normal. This needs JAGO - Supply Drop Radio; without it you get a loot bag.
- Left alone, a zone grows every 3 days, up to level 3: bigger (60 m up to 105 m), busier and tougher.
- Infestation zombies stay put if you die, and ones that disappear are replaced quickly when you return.
- Admin console: jzinfest list | spawn [here] | clear <id|all> | complete <id> | grow <id> | kills <id> <n> | next <day> | omen.
- Blood moon omens (server-side): between 06:00 and 09:00 on a blood moon day, each player hears a distant wolf howl and gets a short cosmetic "Uneasy" buff. Nothing names the blood moon, so it stays a surprise on servers with the blood moon warning off.
- Random zombie health: every zombie (including zombie dogs, vultures, bears, boars and wolves) rolls its max health once when it spawns, from -10% to +50%, and keeps it through reloads.
- Corpses stay longer: 120 seconds instead of 30, and they break or butcher faster (300 hit points instead of 1000).
- Blood moon cap: the active horde cap follows your server's Max Spawned Zombies setting instead of vanilla's fixed 30.
- A blood moon XML requirement other mods can use.
- English, German and Spanish text.

- EnableCorpseLooting (true), DestroyOnLoot (true)
- LootDestroyEffect (blockdestroyorganic; or blockdestroywood, metal, earth, _stone, or none), LootDestroySound (organicdestroy, or none)
- ZombieHealthMinPercent (-10), ZombieHealthMaxPercent (50). Both 0 turns random health off.
- InfestationEnabled (true), InfestationIntervalDays (4), InfestationMaxActive (2)
- InfestationRadius (60 m), InfestationGrowRadius (15 m), InfestationMaxRadius (105 m), InfestationGrowDays (3), InfestationMaxLevel (3)

- InfestationKillsBase (15), InfestationKillsPerLevel (5), InfestationKillsPerExtraPlayer (8)
- InfestationMaxAlive (4), InfestationMaxAlivePerLevel (2), InfestationMaxAliveGameStageStep (25; 0 turns it off), InfestationSpawnSeconds (20)
- InfestationGameStageList (SleeperGSList; empty uses InfestationGroups instead), InfestationGameStagePerLevel (15), InfestationGroups (ZombiesAll, ZombiesNight, jagoInfestationTough)
- InfestationBlockScouts (true): keep screamer scouts out of zones
- InfestationRewardXP (300 per level), InfestationRewardXPPerGameStage (5), InfestationRewardXPPerExtraPlayer (10%)
- InfestationRewardCache (true), InfestationRewardDrop (supplyDropSignalInfestation; empty gives a loot bag), InfestationRewardDropsMax (4)
- BloodMoonOmens (true), OmenStartHour (6), OmenEndHour (9), OmenHowlDistance (35 m), OmenSound (wolfroam, or none)
Infestations are saved in JAGO-Zombies-Infestations.txt in the save folder. It's safe to delete while the server is stopped.
Compatibility
- DoubleG Zombies 3 and DoubleG Classics ReImagined are optional. Without them their entries simply don't match.
- The blood moon cap and random health change difficulty server-wide.
- Corpse Musk also hides you from the blood moon director, which is why it's blocked on blood moon nights.
- Infestations and omens run only on the server and use the vanilla map marker system.
Requirements
- Harmony DLL mod: EasyAntiCheat must be OFF.
- Gears is not used.
- Install on the server and on every client.
- Unzip into your Mods folder and keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Zombies as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order, so it loads after the DoubleG zombie mods.
- Works standalone. Each JAGO mod is independent. JAGO - Supply Drop Radio (infestation reward crates) and JAGO - Vehicles (the drone Loot Collector empties corpses) add extras when present.
Installation
Step 1: Install JAGO - Zombies on the server and on every player's game, all on the same version. In single player, install it on your own game.
Step 2: Download the zip and unzip it into the game's Mods folder, so you end up with Mods/ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Zombies/ModInfo.xml. For the game that is the Mods folder in the install folder (in Steam: right-click 7 Days to Die > Manage > Browse local files; create Mods if it isn't there). For a dedicated server it is the Mods folder next to the server executable.
Step 3: Keep the folder name ZZ-AMG5TAG-JAGO-Zombies exactly as it is: the ZZ- prefix sets the load order. Don't put it inside another folder.
Step 4: This mod contains a DLL, so EasyAntiCheat must be off: start the game without EAC (untick EasyAntiCheat in the launcher), and on a dedicated server set EACEnabled to false in serverconfig.xml.
Step 5: Start (or restart) the server and the game. To update, delete the old folder and unzip the new version the same way on the server and every player's game at the same time.
Changelog
JAGO - Zombies: changelog
=========================
1.0.2 (29 Oct 2026)
- Bug repellent, corpse musk (and the crude version, now greyed), corpse bait scent and all 18 corpse bait logs now have their own icons: the bait logs are tinted and dotted in their colour (white, brown, red, green, blue, grey) so each colour is clear in your inventory. Their old colour tints are removed, since the badges now tell them apart. Sources and licences are listed in ICON-CREDITS.txt.
1.0.1 (28 Oct 2026)
- Corpse searching is now entirely JAGO's own code, with its own Harmony ID and log tag ([JAGO-Zombies]). Searching works as before.
- Modders: the property that makes a zombie class searchable is now JAGOSearchableCorpse (was LootableCorpse).
- IMPORTANT: update the server and every player to 1.0.1 at the same time; 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 can't connect to each other.
1.0.0 (27 Oct 2026)
- First public release.
Development history
-------------------
Before its public release this mod was developed and run privately, with its own version numbers (the last was 3.10.1). Those notes are kept below for reference; none of those versions were released to the public.
JAGO - Zombies - Changelog
3.10.1 (26 Oct 2026)
- Fix: the infestation save file is now replaced in one step. Before, a crash or a killed server at the wrong moment could leave no save file, losing every infestation zone and the spawn schedule.
- Fix: where two infestation zones overlap (only possible with the admin "jzinfest spawn here" command), a kill no longer fails to count for the second zone when the first has nobody in it.
3.10.0 (16 Oct 2026)
- Infestation rewards now scale with party size ("party" is the most players seen in the zone at once, the same number that raises the kill target).
- One reward drop per player, up to 4. A solo clear still gets one. New setting: InfestationRewardDropsMax (default 4; 1 restores the single drop).
- Clear XP gets +10% for each player after the first, for everyone there. New setting: InfestationRewardXPPerExtraPlayer (default 10; 0 turns it off).
3.9.0 (15 Oct 2026)
- Clearing an infestation now calls in a reward supply drop near where the last zombie fell, instead of a loot bag. A signal is placed on open ground and turns into a supply crate after about a minute.
- The crate holds air drop loot, strong zombie loot, ammo, a chance of medical supplies and a small chance of rare ores, rolled at the opener's loot stage with quality one tier higher than normal.
- Needs JAGO - Supply Drop Radio 1.2.0 or later for the crate. Without it, or if no clear spot is found within about 20 m, you get the old loot bag. New setting: InfestationRewardDrop (empty brings back the loot bag).
3.8.2 (15 Oct 2026)
- Infestation zombies that disappear without being killed (for example when their area unloads) are now replaced quickly, every 3 s, when a player returns, until the zone is back to full. Kill progress is kept.
3.8.1 (15 Oct 2026)
- Fix: infestation zombies vanished about a minute after you died and respawned far away. They now stay in the zone while it exists, and still go away when it is cleared, when their area unloads or on a server restart.
3.8.0 (15 Oct 2026)
- Infestations now scale with gamestage: zombies come from the same gamestage tiers POI sleepers use, at the party's gamestage plus 15 per infestation level. Early zones bring basic zombies; later ones bring ferals, radiated and tougher.
- Max zombies alive in a zone gets +1 for every 25 gamestage, and the clear reward gets +5 XP per gamestage on top of 300 XP per level.
- Screamers no longer come to infestations. The infestation spawner never picks a screamer, and the game's heat scouts are not sent into a zone (or within 30 m of its edge). Heat elsewhere on the map still brings screamers as normal.
- New settings: InfestationGameStageList (empty restores the old fixed groups), InfestationGameStagePerLevel, InfestationMaxAliveGameStageStep, InfestationRewardXPPerGameStage and InfestationBlockScouts.
