Cement Mixer
The Cement Mixer is a workstation dedicated to producing concrete and related building materials, making it essential for constructing durable, reinforced bases that can survive repeated Blood Moon assaults.
What the Cement Mixer Does
The Cement Mixer processes raw materials into concrete mix and other refined building supplies. Its primary output is cement, made from small stones, which is then combined with additional materials to create concrete blocks and reinforced structures. It can also produce building supplies used to upgrade blocks from wood and stone up to sturdy concrete tiers.
Making Cement and Concrete
- Cement — Crafted from small stones processed in the mixer. Cement is the base ingredient for stronger building materials.
- Concrete Mix — Combining cement with sand and gravel or stone produces the concrete mix used to pour and reinforce blocks.
- Building Materials — The mixer supports batch production so you can prepare large quantities before a major build.
Building and Operation
Constructing a Cement Mixer requires resources such as forged iron and mechanical parts, so it is typically built once your Forge is running. Like other stations, it processes ingredients over time and supports a crafting queue, letting you produce building materials in bulk while you work elsewhere.
Why Concrete Matters
Concrete and reinforced concrete blocks have far more durability than wood or stone, allowing your base to withstand horde damage and explosive attacks. Upgrading key structural blocks and horde-base walls to concrete is a common priority for surviving later Blood Moon nights.
Practical Tips
- Mine large quantities of stone early, since cement production consumes small stones rapidly.
- Batch-produce cement and concrete before starting a big base upgrade project.
- Combine the Cement Mixer with your Forge and Workbench to keep all building resources in one workshop.
- Upgrade critical defensive blocks to concrete first, then reinforce further as resources allow.
- Keep sand and gravel on hand along with cement to make concrete mix without interruption.
