Land Claim Block
The Land Claim Block is a special placeable item in 7 Days to Die that marks a region of the world as your protected territory. It is one of the most important tools for safeguarding the time and resources you pour into a base.
What It Does
When placed, the Land Claim Block establishes a protected zone centered on it. Within this area you gain several key benefits that make it the anchor of any serious home base.
- Reduced block decay so your structures persist while you are away.
- Increased durability or damage protection for blocks inside the claimed area on many server settings.
- In multiplayer, it prevents other players from modifying or looting your base, depending on server rules.
Protection Area
The block protects a square region around itself, and the exact size can vary with game and server configuration. You generally cannot place your claim too close to another player's existing claim, which prevents overlapping territory disputes.
Placement and Limits
Most players are limited to a small number of active Land Claim Blocks at once, often just one by default, though server settings can raise this. If you place a new one beyond your limit, the oldest may be removed. Choose the center point carefully so the protected zone covers your most valuable structures and workstations.
Interaction With Enemies
The Land Claim Block does not make your base invisible or invincible to zombies. Blood moon hordes and roaming enemies will still attack structures within the claim. Its value lies in reducing decay and, in multiplayer, keeping other survivors out, not in stopping the undead.
Practical Tips
- Center the claim on your core base rather than the perimeter so protection extends evenly.
- Keep the block itself hidden and reinforced, since losing it removes your protection.
- On multiplayer servers, check the admin's configured claim size and count before committing to a location.
- Reposition your claim as your base grows so new expansions remain covered.
