Quests
Quests are structured objectives that reward players with experience, currency (dukes), and items. Most quests are offered by Traders, though some are triggered by discovering points of interest or reading notes in the world.
Trader Quests
Traders are the main source of quests. When you visit a Trader, you can accept jobs from a rotating list. Completing quests raises your standing with that Trader, unlocking higher tiers that offer better rewards and access to more valuable stock.
Common Quest Types
- Fetch: Travel to a marked building, locate a hidden loot container, and retrieve the item inside.
- Clear (Restore Power / Clear Out): Enter an infested building and eliminate every zombie inside to secure the location.
- Fetch and Clear: A combination that requires both killing the occupants and recovering a specific item.
- Buried Supplies: Use a treasure-map style marker to dig up a cache of loot from the ground.
- Courier and delivery: Carry an item from one Trader to another for a reward.
Quest Tiers
Quests are ranked in tiers, roughly Tier 1 through Tier 5 and beyond. Early quests send you to small, low-risk buildings, while higher tiers point you at large, dangerous structures packed with tougher enemies. Completing a full set of quests at one tier promotes you to the next, and reaching new Trader tiers improves the reward pool.
Rewards and Strategy
- Rewards typically include dukes, experience, and a choice from several reward items such as weapons, tools, or armor.
- Higher tiers give better odds at quality gear, so progressing steadily pays off.
- Quest points of interest are reset when you accept the job, so loot is refreshed even in previously explored buildings.
Tips
- Stock up on ammo and healing items before starting a Clear quest.
- For Fetch quests you can often grab the target item and leave without fighting everything.
- Running several quests from the same Trader hub reduces travel time and speeds up tier progression.
