Snow Biome
The snow biome, often called the Snowy Forest, is one of the coldest regions in 7 Days to Die, blanketed in white pine forests, frozen ground, and drifting snowfall. It offers moderate danger and decent rewards, making it a popular mid-game destination for players who can manage the cold.
Climate and Survival
The defining challenge of the snow biome is temperature. Cold drains your body heat, and if you are underdressed you will begin to suffer stamina and health penalties. Prepare before you travel here.
- Wear warm clothing such as insulated outfits, hats, and cold-weather gear.
- Carry a source of heat like a torch, campfire, or hot food and drinks such as coffee.
- Watch your temperature readout and retreat indoors or near a fire if it drops too low.
Building a base here means insulating against the constant chill, but the cold can also work in your favor by helping preserve stamina during combat.
Wildlife and Threats
The snow biome hosts distinctive animals and zombies suited to the frozen setting.
- Snow-adapted wildlife including wolves, bears, and occasionally the dangerous dire wolf.
- Zombies appear at slightly tougher tiers than the starting forest, so come equipped.
Hunting the local animals provides meat and hides, and predators drop useful resources, though they can quickly overwhelm an unprepared traveler.
Resources and Loot
Reward-wise the snow biome sits above the starting forest but below the desert and wasteland. Loot quality is moderate, and the region is a solid step up as you gear toward tougher biomes.
- Rich in wood from the dense pine forests.
- Good hunting grounds for meat, fat, and hides.
- Points of Interest scattered throughout offer standard loot rooms and trader quest targets.
Tips for Travelers
Treat the snow biome as a transitional zone. Establish cold protection first, keep food and healing items stocked, and use it to farm resources and complete trader missions before pushing into the harsher, higher-reward biomes.
