Workbench

The Workbench is an advanced workstation used to assemble complex tools, weapons, mechanical devices, and high-tier components that cannot be crafted by hand or at the Forge alone. It is a central hub for mid- and late-game production.

What the Workbench Does

The Workbench lets you combine parts, forged metals, and mechanical components into finished gear such as power tools, firearms, vehicle parts, and electrical devices. Many recipes that require multiple sub-components — like weapon parts, engines, or mechanical parts — are assembled here. It also serves as a place to modify and repair certain items.

Building and Powering

Constructing a Workbench requires substantial resources, typically including forged iron, mechanical parts, and other salvaged components, so it is usually built after the Forge is established. Some Workbench recipes take significant crafting time, and the station displays a queue so you can line up multiple items to process in sequence.

Unlocking Recipes

Access to Workbench recipes is driven by perks, magazines, and schematics. Reading the appropriate crafting books raises the quality tier of items you can build and unlocks specialized recipes. Investing in relevant attribute perks further improves what the Workbench can produce.
